Well Placement
- In order to determine well locations that will provide optimal supply capacity, we begin by conducting hydrogeologic evaluations to select exploratory boring locations. We then oversee the exploratory drilling while collecting subsurface data, taking advantage of the expertise of local drilling subcontractors to minimize time and costs. Ramapo will then develop and conduct a testing program to evaluate and design the appropriate well for the situation.
Geophysics and Bedrock Mapping
- Groundwater supply investigations in bedrock often involve evaluating complex fracture systems not easily detected from the surface. We have developed an approach that combines traditional methods of fracture delineation, including aerial photography and geologic mapping, with state-of-the-art geophysical methods that can detect and define water bearing fractures.
Pumping Tests
- Pumping tests, whether simple single-well tests or complex tests using multiple pumping wells, are often the most reliable way to quantify hydraulic characteristics. Our standard pumping test will include monitoring background conditions, measuring extraneous effects, careful control of pumping rates and frequent water level measurements. Data is collected and analyzed utilizing theoretical models as well as interpretational skills obtained by over 25 years of experience!
